Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!!!
Since sending out our last newsletter in April, a lot of great things have transpired.  So much so we have been behind on updating you on our progress.  In the tradition of our year end newsletter we would like to update you on our status.  Special thanks to all of our 2018 funders, farmers, partners and media outlets that supported our work!  We look forward to going into our 6th year of operation with your support!  All donations are tax deductible.

LEGISLATIVE DAYS - HOSTED BY THE FOOD TRUST
In sponsorship of the Food Trust we were able to meet with both North Carolina and Georgia legislative staff in Washington DC to advocate for protection of SNAP, the program formerly known as food stamps and WIC to ensure families are given the basic needs of food.  We also informed staffers about the need for eldercare protections for farmers, specifically the issues surrounding Medicaid liens.  To purchase and download our 2nd edition of our book "Don't Bet the Farm on Medicaid" please click here.

This year we published our first book publication, a user-friendly guide informing realty owners how to protect their land and home from a Medicaid lien when a debt is owed to the nursing home.  The first edition which is available on Amazon includes five states and the Second edition which includes an assessment of 13 states is available for download at $17.00.  Great purchase as a Christmas gift!
In partnership with the Northeast Organic Farmers Association we were able to host a webinar on Medicaid Liens for landowners in the Northeast!  This webinar along with our "Estate planning 101" and "How to Use Farm programs to Grow Hemp" webinars will be available online for viewing and purchase in the new year!
